Linda asked for special prayer: for peace and for wisdom in decision making – What to do to care best for her Mom… temporary and long term decisions…how long to stay…financial (trusting for provisions)…and helpers to share in her burden.
Special prayer for this Friday, Marion has a doctor’s appointment. Linda asked for prayer that the doctor would have wisdom about her mom’s medications (three different doctors are saying three different things) and that the doctor would provide good advice, also for her mom getting to and from the doctor’s office. She is unsteady on my feet, her blood pressure goes up as she walks and she has a hard time breathing.
~I add on -rest- for Linda - as anyone knows who has been through caring for someone 24/7 it is very taxing on your body.
I talk to Linda for a long time today. She sends her greeting and misses everyone. Here is a story she told me:
Yesterday a lady-neighbor came to the door, asked if they needed anything and that she would go to the store to buy it. After she brought the groceries and gave them to Linda. Linda started looking for the receipt to pay the lady back. The Lady said we took the receipt out. Your Mom has been such a blessing to all of us who live around her and to our children – we are happy to be able to give something to her. Then she quoted, Linda a scripture about receiving gifts. Linda was so blessed. While talking to Linda I told her the same scripture – How cool is our LORD. Here is the scripture.
"We are intimately linked in this harvest work. Anyone who accepts what you do, accepts me, the One who sent you. Anyone who accepts what I do accepts my Father, who sent me. Accepting a messenger of God is as good as being God's messenger. Accepting someone's help is as good as giving someone help. This is a large work I've called you into, but don't be overwhelmed by it. It's best to start small. Give a cool cup of water to someone who is thirsty, for instance. The smallest act of giving or receiving makes you a true apprentice. You won't lose out on a thing." Matthew 10:40
Today about three different people were coming in to assess Marion’s needs. Prayerfully they can help Linda so she will have some to free time.
If you want to get Linda’s address or phone # get in touch with me. She would love to hear from you!
Love ya all,
~Pastor Cindy
