Update on Nicholas

Dear friends,

Here is an update on Nicholas. Yesterday, Nick saw an oral surgeon. They took a panoramic e-ray of Nick's head. He did fracture the maxilla bone (the facial bone above the teeth). The biggest concern is "infection." The doctors have Nick on penicillin and an oral rinse twice daily. He has had some swelling, but not too bad. Time is what Nick needs right now, and that there will be no infection. Dr. Anderson wants to do a root canal on the tooth that Nick lost because it was out of his mouth for about 2-3 hours before it was found. He doesn't believe that the nerve survived, and so doing a root canal would ward off infection. I want to believe God for the miraculous, but I also want to use wisdom. Nick is scheduled to have the root canal on Tuesday morning. Again, Nick has been so resilient through this ordeal (your prayers are being answered). Thank you again for your love and support. It has been a great comfort to our family. As a parent, I realize even more now how God must sympathize with us when we are suffering.
